申請を依頼するETA, e-Visa or Visa-Free: Which One Applies to You?
Updated 2026-10-18
Three routes, one choice
Kazakhstan lets foreign nationals in through three different doors. Which door is yours depends on your citizenship, not on what you would prefer.
| Route | Who it is for | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Visa-free (no document) | Citizens of countries with a visa-free arrangement and no ETA requirement | Nothing in advance; carry the usual passport and onward ticket |
| ETA | Citizens of visa-free countries where QazETA filing is enabled | Apply online at least 72 hours before the trip |
| Visa / e-Visa | Everyone else | Apply through the visa route, which usually needs an invitation |
Why this matters before you pay
Most wasted money in this niche comes from people buying the wrong document. An ETA bought by someone who needed a visa is useless; a visa application by someone who only needed an ETA is slower and more expensive than necessary.
The official check takes a minute: open qazeta.kz, go to "Visa / visa-free information", pick your citizenship and passport type. It returns the route. The same information is on Kazakhstan's Visa and Migration Portal at vmp.gov.kz.
Can you hold more than one?
Not in the way people imagine. The portal states that an ETA and visa documents are different grounds for entry and are not used at the same time. If you hold a valid visa, that is your basis for entry — you do not add an ETA on top.
The under-16 rule
Children under 16 are exempt from the ETA. That is worth repeating because a lot of third-party sites sell family bundles that include children who do not need the document at all.
